Brain Activity-Designing for Comfort
Brain Activity: Designing for Comfort
CGX Quick 20r – a continuation of last week’s post – this electro encephalography (EEG) headset has sensors that pick up and record electrical activity in the brain. The data collected can be used to support the study of cognitive processes and medical issues. The primary ergonomic challenge for this project was balancing the need for pressure on the sensors to deliver exceptional signal quality with comfort for the user - a typical session can last up to an hour. To perfect the signal quality/comfort balance we held multiple research sessions testing prototypes both in the role of practitioner and patient and wore prototypes while working.
